What does the Anaheim Ducks logo mean? ›

“The Ducks are a symbol of Orange County, and our pivot to orange with an updated, iconic logo encompasses our past, present and future.” Founded and brought into the league by Disney and beginning play in the 1993-94 season, the team was originally known as the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.

Anaheim has not had a captain since Ryan Getzlaf retired following the 2021-22 season. Getzlaf played 17 seasons for the Ducks, held the title for 12 (2010-22) and is their leader in games (1,157), points (1,019) and assists (737).
