Is the Dart pistol or rifle better? ›

This is because 2 hits from the Dart Rifle takes about the same amount of time and has about the same amount of damage as 4 hits from the Dart Pistol, meaning that since only 3 hits are needed from the Dart Pistol, the Dart Pistol would kill the enemy faster than the Dart Rifle in that situation.

Its best modifier is Unreal.

It can be an extremely deadly mid-Hardmode weapon in the right situations when paired with the right darts: Crystal Darts for enclosed areas or crowded enemies, Cursed Darts for many grounded enemies, or Ichor Darts for bosses or enemies with high defense.

(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) Dart Traps can be rotated 90° with a hammer.

Notes. Dart Traps do pierce damage, triggering invincibility frames for 1/6th second (10 ticks) on enemies. If an enemy is hit by more than one dart in that time frame, it will only take damage from one dart. Keeping 8 tiles of space between dart traps should guarantee that each dart deals damage.
