Drive in Movies, Las Vegas - The Rambling Renegade (1)

There may not be as many parking spots for drive in movies in Las Vegas as there were in the 1950s, but they still exist! Drive in movies are a nostalgic treat for our otherwise typical Netflix binge nights. It’s an easy way to add a pinch more excitement to our busy lives without handing over the big bucks.

There are two, count ‘em TWO current drive-in movie theaters left in the greater Las Vegas Area. I have been scouring the web trying to find which theaters are still running their show times and as it turns out, most of these lists are quite outdated, shocking.

Here is an updated list for drive-in movie theaters in Las Vegas and some answers to your FAQs to make the night run smooth.

#1– West Wind Drive In Las Vegas

Drive in Movies, Las Vegas - The Rambling Renegade (2)

West Wind Drive-In movie theater in Las Vegas is easily the most recognizable and well known spot for drive in movies around Las Vegas. West Wind takes pride in having invested in the largest digital projectors available. They offer high quality FM stereo sound that is streamed directly from your car’s FM stereo. However, if your car does not come equipped with FM stereo you’re going to have to dig up your old boom box.

What the people are saying:

PROS of this drive-in movie theater include the kids playground, cheap prices, and cleanliness. They also offer first run movies at the same time as indoor theaters (a HUGE plus).

CONS are that it can be especially difficult to watch movies with darker lighting, or any dark scene in general. Also, parking is good if you get there early but reviews state that the parking spots are oddly angled to the screen

#2- Snappy Burger Las Vegas

Drive in Movies, Las Vegas - The Rambling Renegade (4)

Snappy Burger is your answer to “dinner and a show”. Love the fact that it is a genuine Mom & Pop local spot. Though not touted as a drive-in movie theater exclusively, don’t let that take away from what it can offer. This little burger stand is retro, intimate, and a perfect excuse to get out of the house. The showings are free and the burgers are fresh and as juicy as they come. Movies and classic TV shows run on the screen the entire time it’s open. Tune in to 94.3 FM for the screening’s audio and stay as long as you’d like!

What the people are saying:

PROS of this drive-through are the FREE movie/tv showings, as well as the highly rated simple and fresh all American menu complete with glass bottle cane sugar sodas.

CONS include not having a bathroom and having a rather small parking lot that can be busy during the daytime (though some mention the small parking lot as a PRO for ambiance).
