When you start making dinner, begin by making the stuffing according to the directions on the package.

Also, preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

Then, place the boneless chicken breasts in the bottom of a 9×13 inch greased pan.

Now in a small mixing bowl mix together the cream of chicken soup, dried parsley, and the milk.

Once it is all well combined, pour the cream of soup mixture over top of the chicken breasts, trying to spread it out evenly.

After the soup layer, spread the stuffing out over top of the chicken.

Now cover the 9×13 inch pan with aluminum foil and place the pan in the oven and bake it at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.

After 20 minutes, take the pan out of the oven and remove the foil from the pan.

Homemade Stuffing

If you fancy yourself a chef or like to pretend (haha), then you can change up this simple dinner recipe by making your own homemade stuffing in place of the box mix stuffing.

A great recipe to use is Spend With Pennies’ easy stuffing recipe. Be sure to take a look at it and make sure you have all the ingredients and time to make the stuffing from scratch.

If not, don’t worry! This recipe is fabulous the way it is and you can always pretend you made the stuffing from scratch. 😉

Want to Spice Up This Savory Dish?

If you want to make this dish even better, you can always add cheese! Cheese makes everything amazing, right? Pick your favorite, I like to use swiss cheese and place a slice on top of each piece of chicken. Talk about YUM!

You can also make this dish extra creamy by adding ½ to ¾ cup of sour cream to the soup mixture!

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces Chicken Stuffing Mix
  • 6 boneless chicken breasts
  • 2 (10.75 ounces) cream of chicken soup
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • cup milk
  • paprika to taste

Instructions

  • Prepare stuffing as directed, set aside.

  • Place chicken in a 13 x 9 inch greased pan.

  • Mix together soup, parsley, and milk. Pour on top of chicken.

  • Spread stuffing on top of soup mix and chicken.

  • Cover with foil and bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.

  • Uncover and bake for 20-25 more minutes (until chicken is not pink).

  • Sprinkle with paprika.

Notes

We love to serve it with baked potatoes and use the extra soup mix as a gravy to go on top. Another thing I like to do is top each chicken breast with a slice of cheese (cheddar, Swiss, Provolone- they are all delicious!). Some people also said that they like to add sour cream to their soup mixture for an additional twist.

My mom used to make this recipe, too, but she would top each breast piece with swiss or muenster cheese before pouring the wet mixture on top. It is my hubbie's most requested dinner! Yum!

  2. Mrs. Haase says:

I have a similar recipe. Place boneless skinless chicken breast in pan sprinkle with lemon pepper seasoning. Place cheese on top then glob on one can of cream of chicken. Cover with prepared stove top and bake at 350. Heaven in a pan :)

  3. CNC Female says:

we make this too, but we add sour cream to the soup to cut the chickeny taste.. also my sister has added mixed veggies in with the meat to give it some oomph.

  4. konstantine. says:

This recipe is great! Either add more time for whole breasts, or cut them up though. I wound up needing more time. But delicious!!

  5. CurvyCountryChick says:

I use one can of cream of chicken and one can of creamed corn; it's delicious!

  6. Rowanvamp0 says:

Do you prepare the stuffing as directed on the box then put it on top of the chicken or do you just open the stuffing bag and place the dry stuffing on top of the chicken? Thanks in advance.

  7. Cyd says:

You prepare the stuffing as directed on the box.

  8. Danielle says:

I was excited to try this but it just did not turn out good for us. The condensed soup mix made the stuffing soggy and salty. The outside of the chicken had a weird slimy feeling/taste to it. Maybe I did something wrong, but the instructions were very clear so I don't think that's it.

  9. RozClark says:

I added a bag of cooked frozen broccolli. Before the soup mix! Turned out really good

  10. NotNoing says:

    Can you use frozen breasts?

  11. Momma Cyd says:

Where you are baking the chicken, thawed chicken is best. You don't want to cook it longer because its frozen because you run the risk of it being dry.

  12. Penny says:

This was a very easy and delicious meal but next time I think I'll use half the soup because my stuffing was way to moist

This recipe was amazing!! I didn't have 2 cans of cream of chicken, so I used 1 can cream of chicken and 1 can of creamed corn and it was AMAZING!!!

Could I use boneless skinless chicken thighs if so does it change the cooking time?Trying to use all these chicken thighs from Costco

  15. Momma Cyd says:

You can totally use chicken thighs. You may need to cook about 10 minutes longer.

  16. Marcy Sphaler says:

I made this tonight for dinner, it was thee bomb!! I put Muenster cheese slices on top of the chicken, and I mixed sour cream in with the soup & milk. It was heaven in a pan! Thank you for the recipe! Can't wait to try more recipes from you!
